Using personal data
This is how we process and protect your personal data
It is important to Kauneusshop that you, our customer, can shop safely on our website. Here we explain in detail how we process, protect and use your personal data.
The EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect on May 25, 2018, and that's why we've updated our privacy policy. At the same time, we make it even more transparent for what purpose we store and use customer data. GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation and replaces the Finnish Data Processing Act. The data protection regulation increases and clarifies your rights regarding how your personal data is processed.
What information do we store and why?
We store and collect information when you visit our website, use our apps and shop with us. When you place an order, we store the following information about you: name, postal address, phone number, email address, home address, customer number, and your delivery and payment information. If you choose an invoice as the payment method, our partner Klarna requires that you also provide your social security number so that your credit information can be checked.
We save your email address so we can send you an order confirmation of your purchase. If you have given your consent, you will also receive electronic messages, such as newsletters, in your email. We also need your home address so that we can deliver your package safely. The personal information provided in connection with the purchase transaction is also stored for possible future support requests, complaints and guarantees.
We constantly strive to create meaningful experiences for our customers. In order to be able to succeed in this, we analyze the collected data on both an individual and group level based on age and demographic data as well as purchase and click history. The collected data determines which products we buy in, which offers and campaigns we offer, what kind of digital communication you receive and how we plan our external advertising. The collected information also helps in the development of delivery offers and applications, and shows us the direction of how to develop the Kauneusshop website and our business more broadly.
Keeping your personal data
Personal data is stored as long as the customer relationship is active. After this, data can be stored if consent has been given. We do not process personal data older than two years. If you wish to delete your personal data before this time expires, or if you no longer wish to receive electronic communications in the form of newsletters or text messages, you can contact us at any time, and we will take care of the matter without delay.
We analyze and collect data on our customers' purchasing behavior using Google Analytics. This information is stored for 24 months.
Protection of your personal data
When you provide personal information in connection with a purchase, it is important that you can trust that we will process your personal information securely. Sensitive information such as a credit card number is sent encrypted (SSL) so that third parties cannot access the information. The information is not stored in Kauneusshop's own database, but is forwarded directly to the credit card company. Whenever sensitive information is sent, the transfer is encrypted either in your account or during the checkout transaction. We are constantly working to ensure that both our operations and systems meet today's security standards.
Data security breaches are very rare. However, in the event of a possible data security breach, we follow clear and predetermined procedures to minimize damage. Our customers can trust that in the event of a data breach, they will be informed as soon as possible.
Will my personal data be transferred to third parties?
We may disclose some necessary information to third parties to guarantee delivery and for marketing purposes. We pass on information to the following third parties:
- When paying to the payment intermediary with a payment card or online bank
- Billing partner for Klarna, who handles the invoicing of the purchase on our behalf if the customer so chooses
- To our transport partner Posti
When transferring and processing data, the Kauneusshop online store ensures a high level of data security and protection in accordance with the EU data protection regulation. The means of verifying the level of data processing by third parties are model contract clauses approved by the European Commission. Information is not transferred outside the EU or the European Economic Area.
Your rights
You have the right to view your customer information at any time. This applies to both the personal data we store and information about how and for what purpose your personal data is used. If you disagree with how your personal data should be used, you have the right to object to the use and withdraw your consent. You also have the right to be forgotten, that is, to demand that we delete all of your personal data that we have stored. Feel free to contact our customer service if you have any questions or concerns regarding your personal information. Our customer service is available via email at info@kauneusshop.fi
Can this privacy statement be changed?
Due to the development of services and changes in legislation, we reserve the right to change the data protection statement. Significant changes to the privacy statement will be notified to registered customers when the terms are updated. This Privacy Statement replaces the previous registry statement.
